Apitherapy - The use of beehive products to prevent, heal, or help in recovering from a disease or condition.

 

Beehive products include: Pollen, bee bread, honey, royal jelly, propolis, and wax. Bees (and brood) provide a protein source as well as sting therapy. Additional information on each of these products is detailed below.

Propolis is a sealing agent collected by the bees from the tips of buds of certain trees. It is contains antibacterial properties and is essential for healthy hives.
Raw honey contains enzymes, vitamins, minerals, and a host of other healthy components. Local honey for allergy relief must contain pollen from the local plant sources to be effective.
