2012 PennApic Summer Picnic,

Pig Roast, and Friday Night Social.

 

A pig roast, live band, gold panning, balloon contest, honey tasting contest, the "Best Honey in Pennsylvania" contest, and awarding the PennApic Beekeepers of the year, were just part of the festivities.

 

Picnic highlights included:

 

* Scott Famous and Doug Shearer being awarded the PennApic Beekeepers of the Year.

 

* A live band entertained the crowd thanks to Michael Bailey of Elizabethtown, Pa.

 

* Dawn Toutkaldjian and nich cherry defended their balloon toss title.

   Samuel & James Shea won the youth cotest.

 

* Tristan Saunders took home the "Best Honey in Pennsylvania" award.

 

* Bill Fisher won the Honey Tasting contest.

 

* PennApic established a legal defense fund at the board meeting. 


A huge THANK YOU goes out to all those assisting and attending this event. Appreciation to Shawn & Allysa Moyer for hosting the picnic at their home this year. 

Duke Penneycoff drove in Friday night to stay over and roast the pig.
John Klapac drove in from Maryland to stay the night and help with the picnic arrangements.

Joyce Holton arrived early on Saturday to help set up and assist with the Penn Apic registration table.
One of the day's highlights was a gold panning table that was enjoyed by many. Actual gold was found by all!

No picnic would be complete without Mary Chronister adding to the festivities.
700 dollars was raised for the newly established PennApic Legal Defense Fund. Our first task will be to support the efforts to stop restrictive ordanances being proposed in Plymouth Township, Montgomery County.
